The Raven

When I saw the trailer of this movie I said to myself instantaneous that I HAVE to watch it. This was in March this year, but I didn’t manage to see it in the theater because of a busy period then. So I downloaded it and watched it last week with my mum. Was really good: a drama/mystery/thriller with John Cusack and Luke Evans ( The Three Musketeers).

storyline via imdb: This movie is set in the mid 1800s and involves Edgar Allan Poe, the poet. A serial killer is on the loose and murdering people using Poe’s descriptions from his published poems. So Poe teams up with Detective Fields, a Baltimore policeman to try and catch the killer by using his knowledge of the descriptions. Even though the poems are fictional, they start to become reality and the killer is a step ahead of them. Then it takes on a personal note as Poe’s lover becomes a target. Will they stop the killer in time?

The Illusionist (2006)

On my mini unexpected school break I watched it because it has been recommended to me by many people. And it’s true: the movie is worth it! It has nothing to do with „The Prestige”  though it’s about love, magic and mystery too. Jessica Biel has a part in the film, but the most charming is still Edward Norton (and he has my fav name as well haha). I think the movie is a must see! Totally!

Storyline via imdb: Eisenheim is a magician in early 1900’s Vienna, who falls in love with a woman well above his social standing. When she becomes engaged to a Crown Prince, Eisenheim uses his powers to free her and undermine the stability of the royal house of Vienna.
