Hitchcock

In filmul biografic Hitchcock cu o distributie excelenta: Anthony Hopkins (Legends of the Fall si The Silence of the Lambs), Scarlett Johansson (He’s Just Not That Into You, Vicky Cristina Barcelona si The Prestige) si Jessica Biel (New Year’s Eve, The A-Team, Valentine’s Day, The Illusionist si Elizabethtown) este surprins momentul din viata marelui regizor cand, lipsit de inspiratie, citeste romanul Psycho, care va deveni, cu multe sacrificii, cel mai cunoscut film al sau.

The Dark Knight Rises, Love and Other Drugs, Alice in Wonderland, Valentine’s Day, Becoming Jane, The Devil Wears Prada si Brokeback Mountain), Amanda Seyfried (Gone si Mean Girls), Sacha Baron Cohen si Helena Bonham Carter (Harry Potter, Alice in Wonderland si Sweeney Todd). Este un film pe care-l recomand din toata inima pentru oricine. Se pare ca sfarsitul anului 2012 si inceputul anului 2013 este plin de ecranizari de romane: Anna Karenina, Marile Sperante, urmand Marele Gatsby.

The Dark Knight Rises

WARNING: This article is very long and contains spoilers!

Finally!!!! After four years of waiting for this sequel, I’ve finally seen it eight days ago. And it was worth the waiting. Like I said in the post where I presented my Spiderman review, I love superheroes, but Chris Nolan’s Batman movies aren’t just cheap films with fights. They are psychological and deep. Have you seen other movies directed by Christopher Nolan, like The Prestige or Inception? If the answer is yes, you’ve got to know what I’m talking about here. Four years ago, I simply loved the Joker. And no, I had no idea about Heath Ledger, the fact that he was dead or stuff. He was brilliant; I realized it even if I was 12 years old. And I cried when I found out that he was just 28 when he died. I’ve made an obsession for him and The Dark Knight became my favorite movie ever (that’s why I’ve seen it more than 25 times haha).

2008 was also the year when I discovered my thing for cinematography and because of my passional way of being, I’ve had several small crushes on different actors, like Tom Hardy (Rocknrolla, Inception, This means war), when I saw him in 2009 in Wuthering Heights – television movie. Back then he was no famous actor, but now his time has come and he deserves it because he is extraordinary talented. In the end of The Dark Knight, the Joker doesn’t die: he’s just caught by the SWAT teams; so I guessed Christopher Nolan wanted to make a sequel also with Joker. But six months before the premiere, Heath Ledger was found dead in his apartment in New York City. So Chris had to choose another villain: Bane. And who else to play Bane, but Tom Hardy?! He did a great job out of his part and I think everybody loved it. Christian Bale (The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight and Public Enemies) was as usual the perfect Batman and Bruce Wayne (sorry George Clooney and Val Kilmer). I had to admit that at first, I wasn’t very thrilled about Anne Hathaway (Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada, Becoming Jane and Valentine’s Day) playing Selina Kyle, but even I, as a girl, have to face the truth: she was a very sexy and charming Catwoman. I was very looking forward to seeing Marion Cotillard (Public Enemies, Nine, Inception and Midnight in Paris), but in the end I was very disappointed to learn that she was the brain behind the evil plan and not Bane. However, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (10 Things I Hate About You, 500 Days of Summer and Inception) didn’t let me down. I burst into tears when a woman called him Robin in the end of the film. The rest of the cast was pretty great: Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Michael Cane, Daniel Sunjata, Liam Neeson and Cillian Murphy.

Well… a masterpiece indeed :) I’ve seen in twice, once in IMAX and I’d do it again! Hope this was helpful and enjoyable and thank you for reading!

storyline via imdb: Despite his tarnished reputation after the events of The Dark Knight, in which he took the rap for Dent’s crimes, Batman feels compelled to intervene to assist the city and its police force which is struggling to cope with Bane’s plans to destroy the city.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting

Yesterday I went with a friend to the cinema to watch this lovely romantic comedy with Cameron Diaz (Bad Teacher, Knight and Day, Shrek Forever After, What Happens in Vegas, Shrek the Third, Shrek 2 and Shrek), Jennifer Lopez (The Back-up Plan), Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl), Ben Falcone (Joey), Anna Kendrick (The Twilight Saga and Up in the air) and Joe Manganiello (True Blood). As you can see, a lot of known actors. The movie was very nice, something like Valentine’s Day (lots of couples), so if you liked that film, you should watch this one as well :)

storyline via imdb: Inspired by the perennial New York Times bestseller of the same name, WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU’RE EXPECTING is a hilarious and heartfelt big screen comedy about five couples whose intertwined lives are turned upside down by the challenges of impending parenthood. Over the moon about starting a family, TV fitness guru Jules and dance show star Evan find that their high-octane celebrity lives don’t stand a chance against the surprise demands of pregnancy. Baby-crazy author and advocate Wendy gets a taste of her own militant mommy advice when pregnancy hormones ravage her body; while Wendy’s husband, Gary, struggles not to be outdone by his competitive alpha-Dad, who’s expecting twins with his much younger trophy wife, Skyler. Photographer Holly is prepared to travel the globe to adopt a child, but her husband Alex isn’t so sure, and tries to quiet his panic by attending a „dudes” support group…

Mirror Mirror

After watching the drama „Snow White and the Huntsman”, I wanted to see the funny version called „Mirror Mirror” too. I didn’t regret it, because I didn’t get bored a second and this because of the cast: Julia Roberts (Valentine’s Day, Ocean’s Twelve, Ocean’s Eleven and Friends), Lily Collins (Abduction and 90210) and beautiful Armie Hammer (J. Edgar, The Social Network and Gossip Girl) who played the prince. I loved two scenes: the fight between Snow White and the prince and the one with the kiss (unusual because Snow White’s kiss healed the prince and not the opposite). I think everybody should watch this film, because it’s very nice!

storyline via imdb: After a beloved King vanishes, his ruthless wife seizes control of the kingdom and keeps her beautiful 18-year-old stepdaughter, Snow White, hidden away in the palace. But when the princess attracts the attention of a charming and wealthy visiting prince, the jealous Queen banishes the girl to a nearby forest. Taken in by a band of rebellious but kindhearted dwarfs, Snow White blossoms into a brave young woman determined to save her country from the Queen. With the support of her new friends, she roars into action to reclaim her birthright and win back her Prince in this magical adventure comedy that will capture the hearts and imaginations of audiences the world over.
